• CAMPAIGN FINANCE. The National Association of Business Political Action Committees has hired Ziebart Consulting, founded by Republican fundraiser Geoff Ziebart, to lobby on “all legislation and rulemakings pertaining to federal campaign-finance system,” according to the registration.
• DEFENSE. Robison International is lobbying for several defense companies, including Curtiss-Wright Corp., Lord Corp., Flir Systems and GKN Aerospace. M-Dot Aerospace, a small engine manufacturer, has also hired Robison to lobby on improved engines for unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the lobbying registration.
Meanwhile, Goodrich Corp. has hired Park Strategies Washington Group to lobby on the defense authorization and appropriations bills. The lobbying team includes former Sen. Alfonse D’Amato (R-N.Y.) and Kraig Siracuse, a former staff member to the Senate Appropriations Committee.
And Dynetics has hired Cornerstone Government Affairs to lobby for “defense program support activities,” according to the registration. Daniel Fleming, a former director of the Army’s House liaison office, is lobbying for the company.
• HEALTHCARE. Tallahassee Memorial Hospital has hired Washington Council Ernst & Young to lobby on issues related to residency-program reimbursement, according to lobbying records.
• TELECOMMUNICATIONS. Dunkel Government Relations, founded by lobbyist Robert Dunkel, is lobbying for Qwest and BellSouth, as Congress debates an overhaul to telecommunications laws.
Meanwhile, D&P Creative Strategies, founded by lobbyists Ingrid Duran and Catherine Pino, is lobbying for Comcast, the cable giant. The firm also signed another major American corporation: retail powerhouse Wal-Mart, according to recent lobbying disclosure records.
