
"Karen Suárez Jiménez (she/her/ella) is a proud Indigenous Mexican woman from Oaxaca, Mexico. She is a first-generation college graduate, achieving summa cum laude from St. Norbert College before earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
Karen’s interests in law school primarily revolved around immigration law and federal Indian law. Her legal career began with hands-on experience in immigration law, where she represented clients in federal immigration court, particularly in asylum cases. She recently completed a post-graduate fellowship with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, where she worked for the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs - Majority under the leadership of Senator Brian Schatz. Her portfolio covered a broad range of issues, including Artificial Intelligence, Public Safety & Law Enforcement, and Economic Development.
