POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate will work closely with Team D&P to manage the firm’s government relations portfolio working closely with key Fortune 100 clients and nonprofits. The work will include: monitoring federal legislation, communicating with Congressional offices, attending congressional hearings, managing special projects, conducting third party outreach, undertaking legislative and other research, drafting memorandums and briefing documents for a variety of clients. The Associate will be required to register to lobby, attend evening events (when applicable) and work closely with the founders of the firm and other team members to translate policy and legislation into action. D&P is a virtual and collaborative team-oriented boutique firm, and we provide associates with substantive, rewarding and engaging assignments that match their interests.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 to 5 years professional experience in policy or other relevant areas and prior experience working on and/or with Capitol Hill with a strong political skill set. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of the legislative process, and a passion for working with diverse communities, a team player and is independent and highly motivated. Relationships with third party leaders a plus -- Self-starters are encouraged to apply. Some travel required. D&P offers a competitive compensation package that is commensurate with experience.
